Position : Logistics and Distribution Manager - Nairobi

We are looking for a Logistics and Distribution Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics & Distribution Operations

  • Manage end-to-end logistics operations including transportation, warehousing, inventory movement, and order fulfillment.
  • Develop and implement distribution strategies to improve delivery performance and reduce operational costs.
  • Oversee routing, dispatching, shipment tracking, and delivery scheduling.
  • Ensure all products are stored, handled, and transported safely and efficiently.

Inventory & Warehouse Management

  • Monitor stock levels, reorder cycles, and inventory accuracy.
  • Coordinate with procurement, production, and sales to align supply and demand requirements.
  • Implement warehouse layout optimization and space-utilization initiatives.
  • Lead stock counts, reconciliations, and loss-prevention processes.

Process Improvement & Performance Monitoring

  • Develop KPIs covering logistics efficiency, delivery lead times, transportation costs, and warehouse productivity.
  • Analyze data to identify bottlenecks, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Implement logistics automation, digital tracking, and process-standardization initiatives.

Vendor, Partner & Stakeholder Management

  • Manage relationships with transporters, freight forwarders, 3PL providers, and warehouse partners.
  • Negotiate contracts, rates, and service agreements.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to support business operations and customer needs.

Compliance, Safety & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, customs, import/export, and company policies.
  • Enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards in logistics and warehouse operations.
  • Develop contingency plans for supply chain disruptions and distribution risks.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and develop logistics, warehouse, and distribution teams.
  • Provide training, performance management, and skills development.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CSCP, CLM, APICS) are an added advantage.
  • 10+ years of experience in logistics, warehousing, supply chain, or distribution management.
  • Proven experience managing transportation networks and warehouse operations.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP / WMS / TMS systems and logistics reporting tools.
