Position : Junior Accountant - Dar Es Salaam

Our client specializes in the import and export of top-quality agricultural commodities. They are currently seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join their team.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and financial statements
  • Perform daily accounting activities such as data entry, invoicing, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and relevant regulations
  • Support the senior accountant in preparing budgets and forecasts
  • Conduct regular audits to identify and resolve discrepancies
  • Utilize Zoho accounting software to manage financial data and generate reports
  • Assist in the preparation of tax returns and other statutory filings
  • Provide support during internal and external audits
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather and analyze financial information.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in an accounting role.
  • Proficiency in using Zoho accounting software is essential.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of integrity and professional ethics.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA certification or progress towards certification.
  • Knowledge of local tax laws and regulations in Tanzania.
