Position : Imports/Exports Operations Officer - Zambia

We are looking for an Imports/Exports Operations Officer.
Responsibilities :

  • Coordinate end-to-end import and export operations, from booking to final delivery.
  • Prepare, review, and manage all import/export documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with trade requirements.
  • Submit customs declarations, classify goods using correct HS codes, and ensure adherence to customs and border regulations.
  • Liaise with shipping lines, airlines, transporters, freight forwarders, and customs authorities to facilitate smooth clearance and shipment movement.
  • Track inbound and outbound shipments, provide timely updates, and address any delays or discrepancies.
  • Maintain organised records of all import, export, and customs documentation.
  • Stay updated on customs rules, tariff changes, and international trade regulations, supporting audits and compliance checks.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and provide clients/management with shipment status updates.

Required profile for job ad : Imports/Exports Operations Officer - Zambia

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, International Trade, Clearing & Forwarding, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in import/export operations, freight forwarding, or customs clearance, preferably in Zambia.
  • Strong knowledge of Zambia’s imports and export procedures, including customs systems and clearance processes.
  • English proficiency (both written and spoken) as the working language.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Strong risk management and problem-solving skills.
  •  Proven leadership and team coordination abilities.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  •  Analytical and problem-solving skills
