Position : Human Resources and Administration Officer - Nairobi

We are looking for a Human Resources and Administration Officer.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage monthly payroll, statutory deductions (PAYE, NSSF, NHIF, SDL, etc.), and ensure timely compliance with labour and tax regulations.
  • Oversee recruitment and onboarding processes, including advertising vacancies, interviews, contracts, orientation, and maintaining accurate employee records.
  • Coordinate training, staff welfare, performance appraisals, and employee relations, including handling grievances and disciplinary procedures.
  • Administer employment contracts, renewals, terminations, exit interviews, and ensure proper management of terminal benefits.
  • Maintain HR and administrative systems (including HRIS/biometric attendance), and prepare HR reports such as labour costs and workforce analysis.
  • Handle company compliance and statutory requirements (licenses, permits, OSHA, NEMA, customs-related certifications, annual returns, etc.) and liaise with relevant government bodies.
  • Support general office administration, logistics operations where needed, and represent the company in dealings with regulatory authorities and trade unions.
  • Provide HR and administrative support to management and staff, ensuring smooth operations, effective communication, and a compliant work environment.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in customs clearance and logistics operations, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • In-depth knowledge of Kenyan customs procedures, import/export regulations, and port operations.
  • Strong risk management and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven leadership and team coordination abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in English (both written and spoken) as the working language.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
