Position : Community Development Officer - Accra

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and impact-driven Community Development Manager to lead the design, implementation, and oversight of community-based programs that promote sustainable social and economic development. The role requires a seasoned professional capable of working at both strategic and grassroots levels while delivering measurable community impact.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of community development programs and projects.
  • Conduct in-depth community needs assessments and translate findings into sustainable interventions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, government agencies, NGOs, and development partners.
  • Oversee project budgets, work plans, reporting, and compliance with donor and organizational requirements.
  • Mobilize communities to actively participate in development initiatives and ensure local ownership.
  • Monitor project performance using established M&E frameworks and ensure timely reporting.
  • Supervise, mentor, and build capacity of community officers and field teams.
  • Advocate for inclusive, gender-responsive, and socially equitable development approaches.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Community Development, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Sociology, or a related field (Master’s degree is an added advantage).
  • Minimum of 7–10 years progressive experience in community development, social impact programs, or related development work.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multi-stakeholder community projects and partnerships.
  • Strong knowledge of participatory development methodologies and community engagement strategies.
  • Proven leadership, coordination, and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and reporting abilities.
