Position : Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) - Nairobi

We are looking for a Chief Marketing Officer (CMO).
The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) is a senior executive responsible for developing, executing, and overseeing the organization’s overall marketing strategy to drive brand growth, customer acquisition, revenue, and market leadership. The CMO aligns marketing initiatives with business objectives, strengthens brand positioning, and leads data-driven, innovative marketing efforts across all channels.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with corporate goals.
  • Drive long-term brand vision, positioning, and market differentiation.
  • Provide market intelligence, customer insights, and competitive analysis to support executive decision-making.

Brand & Communications

  • Oversee brand management, corporate identity, and messaging consistency.
  • Lead public relations, corporate communications, and reputation management.
  • Ensure strong storytelling across digital, traditional, and experiential platforms.

Growth, Demand & Revenue

  • Drive customer acquisition, retention, and lifetime value growth.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Product, and Finance to support revenue targets.
  • Optimize marketing ROI through performance measurement and analytics.

Digital & Innovation

  • Lead digital transformation across marketing channels (digital, social, content, CRM, marketing automation).
  • Leverage data, AI, and customer insights to personalize and optimize campaigns.
  • Stay ahead of market trends, emerging technologies, and consumer behavior.

Team Leadership & Operations

  • Build, mentor, and lead high-performing marketing teams.
  • Manage marketing budgets, forecasts, and vendor relationships.
  • Establish KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics for continuous improvement.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with executive leadership to align marketing with enterprise strategy.
  • Represent the brand with key partners, media, and industry stakeholders.
  • Support employer branding and internal communications initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience
Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or related field.
  • Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred.

Experience

  • 12–15+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience.
  • Proven experience in senior or executive-level marketing roles.
  • Strong track record of driving brand growth, market expansion, and revenue impact.
  • Experience leading large, diverse teams and managing significant budgets.
