Position : Chief Commercial Officer - Bissau en Guinée-Bissau

The Electricity and Water Company of Guinea-Bissau (EAGB) is a public limited company governed by a Board of Directors, with legal personality and financial and managerial autonomy. Its mandate includes the generation and purchase of electricity, as well as the management of the public service for the production, transmission, distribution, and commercialization of electricity and water throughout the territory of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau.
The company is currently facing structural challenges that require strong, competent leadership committed to efficiency, transparency, and the delivery of high-quality public services.
EAGB is responsible for the operation, maintenance, rehabilitation, renewal, and expansion of the works, equipment, and facilities placed at its disposal.
We are looking for a Chief Commercial Officer.
General Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director General (DG), the incumbent will be responsible for overseeing all commercial operations of EAGB. The role involves coordinating commercial activities between the Bissau headquarters and sales outlets across the country.
Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate national sales operations, including:

    • Commercial, industrial, and institutional sales
    • Wholesale and retail sales
  • Ensure the planning, development, and effective management of resources under their responsibility, including:

    • Human resources
    • Financial resources
    • Material and information resources
  • Work closely with local branches to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to the achievement of the company’s strategic objectives.

Position Structure

  • First year: The incumbent will be supported by an assistant specialist to facilitate the implementation of operations.
  • Second year: Roles will be reversed, with the specialist becoming the assistant, ensuring skills transfer and continuity of the recovery programme.

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree relevant to the position.
  • Have at least 10 years of relevant experience in senior management positions within organisations comparable to EAGB.
  • Enjoy full civil, civic, and political rights, and have no criminal conviction involving serious or dishonourable offences, nor have caused the bankruptcy of a company.
  • Be fluent in Portuguese (written and spoken).
  • Have a working knowledge of French; practical knowledge of English is an asset.
