Position : Branch Manager (Insurance) (JB5759) - Johannesburg

We are seeking a Branch Manager to lead a high-performing sales team in the funeral insurance sector. The Branch Manager will take ownership of branch operations, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and drive strategic growth initiatives to achieve targets and strengthen the branch’s market position.
Key Responsibilities :

  • Recruit, manage, and develop a team of Sales Managers and Advisors.
  • Plan and execute marketing strategies to grow the branch.
  • Achieve recruitment, sales, and retention targets.
  • Address poor performance and ensure consistent target delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with FAIS, Long-Term Insurance Act, and data privacy legislation.
  • Report regularly to senior management.
  • Allocate advisors to worksites and manage client and advisor relationships.
  • Oversee daily administrative processes to ensure smooth operations.
  • Manage debt control, commission statements, and financial reporting.
  • Compile and submit weekly operational and sales reports.
  • Oversee training and development programs for the sales team.

Candidate Profile :
Education & Qualifications

  • Completed Grade 12 (Matric/High School).
  • Tertiary administrative qualification is desirable.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the Funeral Insurance industry.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Branch Management or similar leadership role.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of FAIS and Long-Term Insurance Act.
  • Excellent English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus.
  • Strong administrative, customer service, and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and insurance assessment tools/software.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to manage and motivate a sales team to achieve targets.
