Biochar Operations Specialist (Mechanical) - Masindi, Kiryandongo

We are seeking an experienced Biochar Operations Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate should possess extensive knowledge of biochar production and its applications. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the production of high-quality biochar for our permaculture initiatives and improve sustainability efforts on the farm. A strong mechanical or technical background is essential to ensure efficient biochar production processes. Additionally, your duties will include managing and maintaining the biochar manufacturing Process unit located in Uganda, East Africa.
Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Management

• Operate and manage biochar production using pyrolysis technology.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of our Biochar Production facility, ensuring efficient and safe processes.
• Maintain and troubleshoot machinery and technical equipment to ensure optimal performance.

2. Quality Control

• Implement quality control measures for production of Biochar
• Investigate any deviations from quality standards and implement corrective actions to address root causes
• Conduct regular quality checks and tests to maintain high standards of Biochar output

3. Environmental Sustainability

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and minimize environmental impact
• Monitor and report on sustainability matrices, ensuring that all operations align with our environmental goals.

4. Regulatory Compliances

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards governing the production and distribution of biochar.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records required for regulatory audits and inspections
