Position : Backpacker Manager - Windhoek

TaTe Group is looking for a principled Backpacker Manager committed to excellence and ethical conduct who will oversee the day-to-day operations of an accommodation facility, catering primarily to international travellers,  volunteer groups, tourist and young travellers. The role involves managing staff, coordinating guest services, and implementing strategies to increase occupancy and maintain positive reviews across booking platform, while maintaining a safe, social, and welcoming environment for travellers.

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Hotel Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • An MBA or other advanced degree is preferred for higher-end or larger properties but not always required.

Work Experience

  • 3–5+ years of experience in hotel operations or a related field.
  • Proven experience in supervisory or managerial roles within the hospitality industry 

Key Skills and Competencies

  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Solid knowledge of hotel software systems (like Cloudbeds, Booking Platforms, GAAP POS systems).
  • Financial acumen – understanding budgets, revenue management, and cost control.
  • Customer service orientation with attention to guest satisfaction.
  • Ability to manage multiple departments (front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, Restaurant/Bar, events, etc.).
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

 Certifications (Optional but Advantageous)

  • Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA)
  • Certified Hospitality Supervisor (CHS)
  • First aid and safety certifications
