Position : Audit Manager - Kigali

We are looking for an Audit Manager.
The Audit Manager is responsible for planning, leading, and managing internal and/or external audit activities to ensure the organization’s financial integrity, operational efficiency, risk management, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. The role provides independent assurance and advisory services to senior management and the Board.
Key Responsibilities
Audit Planning & Execution

  • Develop and implement risk-based annual audit plans
  • Lead audit engagements from planning through reporting
  • Review financial statements, accounting records, and operational processes
  • Ensure audits are conducted in accordance with professional standards (IIA, IFRS, ISA)

Risk Management & Internal Controls

  • Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and risk management systems
  • Identify control weaknesses, process gaps, and compliance issues
  • Recommend practical and value-added improvements

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies
  • Evaluate governance processes and ethical standards
  • Support regulatory audits and external auditors

Reporting & Communication

  • Prepare clear, accurate, and timely audit reports for management and the Audit Committee
  • Present audit findings, risks, and recommendations to senior management
  • Follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations

Team Leadership & Development

  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate audit staff
  • Allocate audit assignments and review working papers
  • Promote continuous improvement and professional development within the audit team

Advisory & Special Assignments

  • Provide advisory services on new systems, processes, and projects
  • Conduct special audits, investigations, and fraud risk assessments as required

Required profile for job ad : Audit Manager - Kigali

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, CIA, or CISA is required or strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 5–8 years of audit experience, including 2–3 years in a managerial role

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of auditing standards, IFRS, and internal control frameworks
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong leadership, communication, and report-writing skills
  • High level of integrity, objectivity, and professional judgment
  • Proficiency in audit tools, data analysis software, and MS Office
  • Ability to manage multiple audits and meet deadlines
