Position : Assistant Production Manager - Ruiru

We are looking for an Assistant Production Manager who prioritizes results over excuses. This role exists to drive output and discipline on the factory floor by ensuring machines produce and people perform. You will be responsible for eliminating idle time, reducing wastage, and enforcing the high standards required to meet our daily targets.

Core Accountabilities

  • Production Output: Ensure machines meet daily targets per shift and escalate constraints immediately.
  • Downtime Ownership: Investigate, log, and correct all preventable downtime events.
  • Operator Discipline: Enforce shift discipline, recommend coaching or PIPs, and escalate repeat offenders.
  • Quality & Safety: Maintain zero tolerance for shortcuts, ensuring all safety and cleanliness standards are met without exception.
  • Skill Development: Track operator skill levels and flag performance stagnation early.
  • Reporting: Deliver daily summaries on output, downtime analysis, waste/rejects, and disciplinary actions taken.

Required Experience & Skills

  • 3+ years in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Proven experience supervising machine operators or technicians.
  • Strong mechanical awareness: You must understand how machines function to manage them effectively.
  • Data-literate: Comfortable with numbers, logs, and performance tracking.
  • Flexibility to work both day and night shift rotations.

Success in this role is objective. By day 90, we expect to see:

  • Higher and more consistent shift output.
  • A measurable reduction in preventable downtime.
  • Fewer post-production defects and visible skill growth in your team.

  • Monthly Performance Reviews: Evaluation is based strictly on KPI achievement.
  • Career Path: This role is a pipeline for Production Manager and Operations Lead positions. Promotions are based on output improvement and reliability under pressure, not tenure.
